Canada's burgeoning tech broligarchy | FIRST EPISODE of the new pod!

Tune in for the first episode of my weekly podcast, where I summarize the news so you don't have to doomscroll. Then, we're talking tech broligarchs with Paris Marx.

Hey folks,

This is the first episode of my brand-new weekly podcast! I am SO thrilled to share it with you.

I’ll always kick things off with a recap of the week’s news — and today is no exception.

Then, I’ve got a really special deep dive for you: we’re talking about Canada’s broligarchs with tech critic, podcaster and author Paris Marx.

On a personal note, this feels like an incredibly special moment. I’ve always dreamed of being an independent journalist. Launching my podcast is one of those “wow, it’s actually happening” moments for me.

I could not have done any of this without your support — so please know, from the bottom of my heart, how grateful I am to have earned it.

Okay, enough cheese. Here’s the podcast.

(I’ve put the description below)

There’s a word people have been throwing around a lot lately: the tech broligarchy.

Think of Trump’s inauguration, where he was flanked by billionaires from Google, Meta, Amazon and Twitter instead of the usual politicians.

Think of Elon Musk in the Oval Office, yammering on for almost ten minutes while Trump sits there looking meek.

Now this might be the point where you go: okay Rachel, sure, but that’s the United States. We’re a separate country.

To that I say: for now. (Sorry, not funny).

But there’s a saying — when America sneezes, Canada catches a cold. And I regret to inform you, it looks like we might be coming down with a bad case of our own tech broligarchy.

To help us understand this, we’re joined by the host of the podcasts Tech Won’t Save Us and System Crash. They’re a tech critic, an author, a podcaster and have a very, very big brain: Paris Marx.

Make sure you subscribe to their incredible work!
