Detainees share the horrifying reality of Trump's mass deportations

When U.S. President Donald Trump campaigned on mass deportations, people raised the alarm about what it would look like in practice.

Now, months into his presidency, stories of the horrors in these facilities are leaking out. Jasmine Mooney, a Canadian who was detained for two weeks, has published a harrowing essay about her experience.

Mahmoud Khalil, the Columbia University student protester who was detained despite having a green card, has written a letter about what he’s lived.
