Parliament is back in action this week, and I’m sure it’s going to be totally smooth, collaborative, and cordial.
What’s that? Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre just called the government “morbidly obese” and the Conservatives are fundraising off of false claims the Liberals tried to influence the outcome of judicial recounts — including ones the Conservatives won?
Oh, okay.
Well, ready or not, here they come!
Prime Minister Mark Carney and Poilievre both laid out their party priorities for this upcoming parliamentary session before their respective caucuses met yesterday, giving us a better sense of what their MPs will bicker about for next few weeks before the summer recess.
But the results of that bickering will have very real and serious impacts on the lives of Canadians, so we’ve got to talk about what’s in store.
We’re also going to touch on an unhinged comment Poilievre made about protesters (hint: turns out Poilievre might not be all about “free speech” for everyone).
Then, we’ll talk about the Royals arriving in Canada and tomorrow’s throne speech.
Ready or not, here we go!
