Tariffs, tariffs, tariffs -- oh, and icky old tweet troubles: election campaign day 12

The focus on the campaign trail today was on how Canada will fight back against Trump's tariffs. But don't worry! There was still time for some other drama, too.

We’ve made it to the 12th day of the election campaign!

Unfortunately, um, it looks like the global economy — as we knew it, at least — didn’t make it alongside us.

That’s because U.S. President Donald Trump announced his massive tariff plan yesterday. As he announced Canada’s response today, Prime Minister Mark Carney warned that “we are living in a new world now.”

On the campaign trail, each party leader laid out an idea to reckon with this new world.

Oh, but did you think that a global economic trauma meant a break from good old election campaign drama? Think again.

A fourth Conservative candidate got the boot last night. Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre is facing calls to kick out another.

That’s not all. In today’s video, I break it all down.
