No one is safe from Poilievre's Conservatives...not even a past leader

Even Poilievre's predecessor as Conservative leader, Erin O'Toole, got caught up in the new leader's divisive rage machine after he had the audacity to...be nice to a Liberal.

Pierre Poilievre’s top strategist has a warning for fellow Conservatives: don’t be nice to anyone who respects trans people.

At least, that’s the message Jenni Byrne — who has been described as “a key architect of the Conservative strategy in Poilievre’s tenure” — sent this week with a public attack on Erin O’Toole.

See, O’Toole committed an act that is seen as cardinal sin under Poilievre’s rule. He was respectful to a Liberal.

Worse still, one who Byrne claims enacted “DEI policies.”

For this transgression, O’Toole earned a public rebuke from Byrne.

“For anyone unsure why Erin is no longer Leader of the Conservative Party…” Byrne posted.

Personally, I think it’s a massive red flag that Poilievre’s top strategist seems to think disqualifying leadership qualities include….thoughtfulness around the human rights of others and basic respect for colleagues from other parties.

But let’s discuss it.
