Is Justin Trudeau about to resign???

First Housing Minister Sean Fraser said he's out. Then Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland left cabinet with a scathing letter. Now, Trudeau is under pressure.

Today was one of those days in Canadian politics. You don’t know when to publish, because it feels like as soon as you do, another shoe is going to drop.

First, Housing Minister Sean Fraser — a fan favourite for next Liberal leader — announced he was leaving cabinet and won’t seek re-election.

Then, Chrystia Freeland announced she was leaving cabinet but would seek re-election. She also sideswiped Trudeau on the way out, telling the public that he had asked her to step into a different cabinet role after weeks of the two being “at odds.”

Instead, she chose no cabinet role.

Now, several Liberal MPs are publicly pulling out their knives and calling for Trudeau’s resignation on national television and on social media.

Things are moving fast. There are calls for an immediate election, suspicions of potential prorogation, and lots of whispers about Mark Carney.

Here’s where things stand right now. (Hopefully this isn’t outdated in ten minutes).
