First Housing Minister Sean Fraser said he's out. Then Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland left cabinet with a scathing letter. Now, Trudeau is under pressure.
God I hope not. The one thing we had going was stability. I'm hoping things will freeze in place over the holidays and cooler heads will prevail in the new year
Could Freeland potentially be making a power grab and hoping to step up if Trudeau steps down? By calling Trudeau out she disarms some of Poilievre's potential attacks in an election, and PP has already taken the bait and echoed her sentiments shared in her letter.
I am not an expert in this so if there is a practical reason she could not run for the party leadership apologies for the misinformed take!
I wonder if there is any plausible chance that the Liberals and NDP merge before the next election or at least refrain from both running candidates in the same riding. If voters are given a binary choice outside Quebec of only two viable options it could prove to be interesting.
Holy that was a lot to cover in about 3 minutes. I don’t see how Trudeau gets through this, but if anyone could he would be one of the few. The problem is that now how does he and the party regroup with him in charge to push that they are the ones to stand against Trump when Freeland has cut the legs out from under him. I have no idea what their path to staying relevant in the next election is now.
