Thousands of people are gathering to march towards the Rafah crossing, where they’re hoping to break Israel’s siege on Gaza.
Palestinians are starving to death as lines of trucks wait outside Gaza’s walls. Israel is only allowing a trickle of aid to enter the region, and distribution of the meagre supplies has been politically motivated and deadly.
“They are starving while trucks full of food are blocked. They are dying while the world negotiates. Gaza has no time left. This is why we march,” a publication on the March to Gaza website says.
“We are not waiting for permission to care. We are moving. Together.”
Canadian physician Yipeng Ge is one of the marchers. He’s in Cairo, leaving soon.
I was lucky enough to speak with him for my podcast this week — and today’s shorter video includes an excerpt of that longer conversation.
This doctor is joining thousands to break the siege on Gaza (with Yipeng Ge)
This week, we've got primary care physician Yipeg Ge on the show. We spoke on Tuesday, because on Wednesday, Yipeng left to join people from around the world who are heading toward the Rafah crossing in Egypt to break Israel’s siege on Gaza.
I’ll be trying to keep in touch with Yipeng as he marches. Until then, here’s the latest.
