Steve Paikin had a panel the other day that started to get at this, but is there an international solution that creates jobs for these displaced scientists? Here, but I would also add: everywhere but the fashy places? It might not be enough to help the biggest victims of environmental racism inside the US, but organised outside pressure from everywhere around them (and keeping the research safer because it is funded and archived by multifarious administrations,) would hopefully be better than a simple gutting.

Careful about not liking calling Science a religion. Many individuals (micro), and governments (macro) believe/have unthinking faith in its tenents/dogma without really understanding, that while using the methodology to define reality, it ignores or blindly denies, the True Nature of Reality, circumstances.

Circumstances are mostly created by chaos, by change, by (getting poetic) a Simple Twist of Faith – thanks Dylan – seen the movie? Well worth the sheckels you dish out. How does Science explain a meteor hitting a high rise in Siberia and killing six, count them 6 individuals? It doesn't.

It can't explain experiences/circumstances, outside of its tenent, The Scientific Method, beyond the laboratory. Science can't find a moral center and because of that, without a counter check, just goes on discovering new technologies to correct the ones it has already created. Not unlike digging a deeper hole to fill an old one you created earlier.

Ever noticed how we're getting better at killing each other; how the planet is getting a tad bit hotter; how we're treating the earth as an infinite resource for our commodity defined consumption?

Yes, Science is our God as most of us do not even know what their own moral center is. Science can't help. Economics justifies our greed, justifies our zeitgeist, justifies our alienation from each other.

Ever questioned climate change? Probably not and rightfully so, given the extensive, yet conservative algorithms, research taking place. Hint, we're down the road further than what you think, by what has been envisioned by minds afraid to shock.

Trumpeter Swan's just saying what most of us are allowing/aiding given our standard of living.

What do you think?

This is anticipated, but infuriating.
