Leaks show Shopify only axed Kanye's store because it wasn't trying "to make money"

I got my hands on leaked internal Shopify messages. Not only did one executive call Kanye a "jackass," but they also show a seriously concerning application of policies.

Shopify didn’t take down Kanye West’s store, which only sold a Swastika t-shirt, because of the obvious.

It was only taken down because it was “not a good faith attempt to make money.”

That’s according to leaked internal messages, which I obtained in the wake of the international headlines Shopify made over revelations the Canadian e-commerce giant powered Kanye’s Yeezy store.

This isn’t the first time Shopify has been caught powering stores that sell icky products. In fact, it’s not even the first time they’ve powered a store selling products featuring Nazi imagery.

I’ve been reporting on this issue for years — so between the leaked internal messages and the track record of dubious merchants Shopify works with, I’ve got a real whopper of a video here for you today.

Enjoy!
