I live in Montreal and I wasn't even aware of that protest hahaha.

What do I think of the situation in GAZA. I think it is hell for everyone involved except for Hamas, who have stated that they are willing to sacrifice every Palestinian if it means they can exterminate the jews. Hamas are the Palestinian authorities giving out news. Hamas have also blocked every path to peace. I am sure that Hamas planned everything about their attack on the festival in Israel to trigger the most outrage possible. Both Hamas and Israel need to be removed from Palestine for there to be any peace.

I do feel like there is meaningful discourse to be had re: the optics of demonstrations, who is organizing, how, and why. And that the genocide in Gaza is currently the most important lens through which to view these.

Like, people love to wax poetic about how disruptive Civil Rights-era protests were, but talk less about how those movements were organized within community groups that have since become far less common, or how to leverage modern “disruptions” to affect meaningful social change. Are people generally willing to give more weight to the agenda of strangers on the street than they were in the ’60s, or less?

Regardless, not enough of our news-making institutions seem to be initiating these conversations or illuminating those already happening. Just more of the exaggerated, divisive fearmongering we’ve come to expect. Especially on an issue so grotesquely entangled with our economy, culture, and politics like Israel and its sinister objectives are. Truly one of the most poppable bubbles Of Our Time

What’s happening in Gaza has been a group effort. What do you make of how Egypt has responded to the war between Israel and Palestine?
