Decoding the white nationalist and extremist dogwhistles the Trump administration is using

Welcome to part two of my "fluent in the worst part of the internet" series!

Do you know how to speak the language of the creepy little far-right freaks on the internet?

Of course not. You have friends. So why would you?

But luckily for you, I do not have a life, and I am fluent in the way these little weirdos signal to each other that they’re part of the same hateful groups.

So today, I’m going to be your Rosetta Stone.

This is the part two that so many of you requested — and we’re doing a special edition: the dogwhistles and symbols the Trump administration has used.

First, a caveat — the person using these symbols isn’t necessarily far-right, and they don’t necessarily (in most case) hold hateful beliefs. But the people who are far right and hold hateful beliefs tend to use some of these symbols and sayings. Makes sense?

The fact that normal people who aren’t hateful also sometimes use this stuff is part of the point. These guys like to signal to each other that they believe the same stuff, while clinging to deniability if they’re ever called out on it.

So let’s peek under the curtain and help you translate this edgelord language.
